The Lifeline program in Illinois helps low-income individuals and households obtain local telephone service.
The Federal Assistance Programs
The lifeline program provides a partial subsidy of monthly local phone bills.
To be eligible for Lifeline, individuals or families must receive benefits under one of the following programs:
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Only eligible consumers may enroll in the program. The Lifeline program is limited to one benefit per household, either wireline or wireless service.
