Based out of central Illinois and serving nine counties covering 34 communities with the latest in technology, CASSCOMM operates Cass Communications Management Inc., Cass Cable TV, Cass Internet, Cass Telephone, Cass Tech Center, Cass Long Distance, Cass Advertising, Gillcrest Farms and Gillcrest Estates. Services offered include: cable television, high-speed internet, digital phone, landline telephone service, cable television advertising and computer repair. Pictured here is the late owner & chairman Mr. Gerald Gill, Mr. Gill and his family have built this company from the ground up and his grandson Sam Gill now runs the company.

Parade Season

Every year casscomm takers the time to participate in parades in our local communities, we make an appearance in over 15 parades a year.

  • We have added services to the communities of Murrayville & Concord IL along with expanding some services in Morgan County.
  • Samuel P. Gill Named President and CEO of CASSCOMM, son of former president Gerald S. Gill and grandson of late Gerald E. Gill.
  • CASSCOMM Celebrates 125 years of services. 
  • CASSCOMM brings service to two new communities, Murrayville IL and Concord IL.
  • CASSCOMM wins the 2023 Smart Rural Showcase award from the NTCA. 
  • Founder & Chairman of the board Gerald E. Gill passed away.
  • CASSCOMM wins Industry of the year award by Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corporation. 
  • CASSCOMM becomes a Smart Rural Community Provider. 
  • CASSCOMM makes executive board executive decision to bring fiber optics to all of its coverage areas
  • Greene County Partners merged into Cass Cable Tv, Inc.
  • CASSCOMM is celebrating 20 years of internet service in our coverage area.
  • CASSCOMM Internet upgraded the mid and high speeds for residential and business to 25M down-3M Up and 50M down-5M up.
  • CASSCOMM Celebrated 50 years of cable TV in our coverage area.
  • CASSCOMM upgraded the billing system and information over to MACC software and no longer print bills from the home office.
  • Jacksonville Journal Courier “Readers Choice” Award for Best Internet Provider.
  • Cable TV now offers Cisco HD 8-tuner digital boxes.
  • CASSCOMM started supporting dedicated fiber optic connections to our businesses customers.
  • CASSCOMM added a direct fiber route in the City of Jacksonville for businesses.
  • Jacksonville Journal Courier “Readers Choice” Award for Best Internet Provider.
  • CASSCOMM Internet upgraded our Internet speeds to 10M 15M and 30M.
  • Launched All Access HD- 100+ HD channel package available to Cable TV customers. Sold Brighton, Carrollton, Jerseyville, Manchester, Roodhouse and White Hall to NewWave Communications
  • Joined Facebook
  • Cass Advertising receives National Telly Award for excellence in ‘Mayberrry’ ad series.
  • Video On Demand (VOD) was launched for cable television customers.
  • CASSCOMM launched its Digital Phone Service (VOIP) with unlimited calling and local number portability.
  • Greene County Partners was acquired servicing Greene, Jersey, Menard and Sangamon counties with Basic Cable packages, Digital Cable packages, High Speed Cable Modem Internet service, High Definition services and Digital Phone.
  • The company moved into a new office on Rt. 78 just north of Virginia. Cass Long Distance became available. Cass Internet was born and provided access to the World Wide Web. Cass Communications Management Inc. was formed to manage Cass Cable TV, Cass Internet, Cass Telephone, Cass Tech Center, Cass Long Distance, Cass Advertising, Greene County Partners, Gillcrest Farms and Gillcrest Estates.
  • Gerald E. Gill, now Chairman of the Board, launched his first cable television service. Cass Community Antenna Television, Inc. was formed in Beardstown, Illinois and received a total of 12 channels. Cass Community Antenna Television is now known as Cass Cable TV, Inc. which has expanded to serve communities in Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Mason, Menard, Pike, Sangamon, Schuyler and Tazwell counties with Basic Cable packages, Digital Cable packages, High Speed Cable Modem Internet service, High Definition services and Digital Phone.
  • Further expansions for Cass Telephone Company began in 1924 with the purchase of the Ashland Telephone Company. In 1968 and 1971 respectively, Chandlerville Telephone Company and Easton Telephone Company were acquired. All four communities are still serviced by Cass Telephone company today, where dial up and DSL internet service has also been made available to telephone customers.
  • The company was incorporated as Cass County Telephone Company. The founders of Cass Telephone Company were Edward J. and Ada Huff, great-grandparents of current Chairman of the Board Gerald E. Gill and great great-grandparents of current President Gerald S. Gill II.
  • Cass Telephone Co. was granted a franchise as Virginia and Little Indian Telephone Company. The telephone wire ran from the community of Little Indian to Virginia, IL providing telephone service within the city limits. The construction wires were strung along roadsides, attached to any stable device available.
